After the successful debut race weekend of Tuason Racing’s GITI-Formula V1 series last May at the Batangas Racing Circuit, 4 new drivers, including an Indonesian Formula Master driver and Renault Clio Cup Champion has joined new and only single seater formula car race series in the country.
The second installment of the GITI-Formula V1 Race Challenge will be on August 11, 2018, at the Clark International Speedway and is supported by Giti Tires Philippines, Cleanfuel, Motul, Rota, OMP, AEG Powertools, Tuason Racing School, West Racing Cars Japan.

Giti- Formula V1 is intended for intermediate drivers who want to graduate from grassroots race programs and for experienced racers to come back into the sport. It is also made to be cost effective, making racing more accessible while providing an up-and-coming talent a program where they can develop their skill. Up for grabs is a seat to race head to head in November 2018 at a former Formula 1 Racetrack, Fuji Speedway near Tokyo along with the best Formula V1 (or Vita as popularly known in Japan) racers. This is in tune with the series’ goal to make Filipinos competitive globally.
Joining points leader Tyson Sy (Parts Pro) in the Pro Class, are 2017 Vios Cup Champion and Formula Renault Driver Daniel Miranda of Team Toyota Balintawak Obengers; Champion Karter and Renault Clio Cup Driver, 21 year old Indonesian Yasuno Senna Iriawan of Team AP Corse; and PTTC and AAP Driver of the Year, Paolo Jose C. Mantolino for PartsPro Racing Team. While Charlie Cojuangco will be joining the AM class under the banner of Team Frontrow Racing.
Luis Gono of Cleanfuel Racing Team will make a beeline to take the championship crown from Tyson Sy, and the addition of the 3 new Pro Drivers will undoubtedly make this battle more exciting. Stefan Ramirez will be on the road to redemption and will definitely bring his best this race weekend after debuting in single seaters last round.
The battle for AM Championship between Jussi Hoika of Team Growl-Thule, Shane Anderson and Sean Smith of Parts Pro will continue to brew; but the addition of Charlie Cojuangco might provide an upset that will keep spectators on their toes. Not discounting Cleanfuel’s Dominique Roque, the 2017 Vios Cup Celebrity Champion who is will have the advantage of having more seat time racing in Clark Speedway. Japanese Driver Masanori Aya will also be returning to have his first taste of Clark-speedway and looking forward to a podium finish.
